Believing is knowing. Believing is also searching for what you know for sure. And believing is doubting but nevertheless still keeping faith. In this performance, Lotte van den Berg shows people who hope to believe. People attempting to give form to their incomprehension, saying a prayer, singing a hymn; people fumbling with unconditional surrender.
Winterverblijf will, according to Lotte van den Berg, ‘be about the beauty of trying to believe in something. Because we can, because we can’t do otherwise. About the necessity of stumbling, falling and starting anew. We shall sing, probably out of tune. We shall mumble and stutter, dance and slip over.’
