Just before the sun comes up, there is a moment when absolutely nothing happens. The night is sleeping soundly and the day has not yet begun. The city holds its breath. The streets are empty. The birds are quietly waiting. That is the blue hour. The hour in which night transforms into day. Somewhere in the city, a street awakens. The audience members are silent witnesses.
Het blauwe uur (The Blue Hour) is a site-specific performance about watching and being watched.
"Director Lotte van den Berg has an incredible eye for detail. ... Het blauwe uur succeeds in remaining both recognizable and playful. ... Het blauwe uur is an unexpected everyday experience which surprises us with the things that were always there." – De Morgen
