From June to October 2010 Lotte van den Berg will be living and working with a team in Kinshasa, Congo. Based on this experience of 'the second world’, a new production will be staged in 2011. The second world is the world of the spirits, the spirit world where everything is possible. A world that is evident to many Congolese.

Lotte van de Berg pulls out all the artistic stops to explore how these imaginary worlds relate to one another.

But before she gets to that point, however, Lotte van de Berg will be showing Cold Turkey, in order to share her experiences with the public as soon as she returns to Europe in the fall of 2010. Cold Turkeyrevolves around the question of whether it is possible to talk about the other world, a different world than the one in which we live. Does appearing to understand the other imply oversimplification? Can we place ourselves in another world and if so, why do we feel the need to do so?
