Having now reached its eighth edition, the Antwerpse Kleppers need no introduction! Once again we will be presenting an exclusive cross-section of Antwerp’s performing arts scene as it is to be seen nowhere else in the world.
You can expect SKaGeN, STAN, de KOE, DeTijd, Walpurgis, Tutti Fratelli, EISBÄR*, Muziektheater Transparant, Compagnie Lodewijk/Louis & Sermoen, Zuidpool, de Roovers and MartHa!tentatief. There will be plenty to tempt dance-enthusiasts, too, including Jan Martens, Lisbeth Gruwez, Marc Vanrunxt and Ann Van den Broek. A whole evening will be given over to Wannes Van de Velde’s magnificent oeuvre and Kapitein Winokio will be honouring us with his company. This edition will also go into the city for an extraordinary installation performance by the BERLIN collective (in cooperation with CCBe). With flat-rate prices (€16/12 except for Tutti Fratelli: €12 and Berlin: €16) and a Bourla Beats which promises to take things to the limit!
Last season the Arenberg and d e t h e a t e r m a k e r launched the first edition of De Klepperkes, a young version of the Antwerpse Kleppers. This season they will again be selecting projects by young Antwerp theatre-makers barely out of nappies. De Klepperkes will be at different times and on different days from the Kleppers proper, so that for example you can easily combine an evening of Bourla with a pre- and post-programme at the Arenberg.
