One of a kind combination of electronic and contemporary classical music
Isabelle Lewis is the promising alliance between Icelandic producer and composer Valgeir
Sigurðsson; countertenor, director and performer Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe; and violinist
Elisabeth Klinck. Their debut album will be released in October 2024 on the renowned
Bedroom Community label.
The fictional character Isabelle Lewis is the embodiment of their collective musical spirit: a
nostalgic shapeshifter with three faces, each personifying a unique sound world. Musically, they bring their surprising pop close to the listener with classical influences, atmospheric melancholy and an operatic pulse. They are radical in their style, and new perspectives always seem to unfold in their atmospheric landscapes. The poetic and mysterious lyrics, Meirhaeghe's high operatic notes, Sigurðsson's sophisticated electronics, Klinck's musical finesse and their charismatic performance make this collaboration an absolute must-see.
The project is a coproduction with the Northern Nordic cultural festival Festspillene i Nord-
Norge (Harstad), where Valgeir Sigurðsson was associate artist in 2023; the Nordic classical
festival Nordlysfestivalen (Tromsø); and C-mine.
