The book shows how the artistic perspective might generate new situations based on the potential and limitations of the body.
The first part, Ecosophy, deals with eco-artistic practices and how these can lead to a greater sensibility to the environment in which we live. The second part, Caring for the Body, uses dance to explore the renewed concern for ‘the body’, both at the level of the individual and in the broader sense of the ‘body’ as corporation and cooperation.
The Ethics of Art does not set out to provide a definitive theoretical overview of all the questions and answers which can influence the debate about ethics and art, but rather it accommodates the voices of individual artists, who talk about their own creative practice, and also more scientific contributions.
